Default slicks on a 15"

I'm working on a mild EK build. Around 400whp. Anyway, how well does a slick on a 15" wheel work as opposed to a 13". The only reason why I'm asking is because I already have a set of 15" Weld alumastar 2.0's for my MR2 drag car. I could just change out the center section for the different bolt pattern for the civic.

Smaller rims mean more sidewall, means more "wrinkle", means more traction. With only 400 hp, depending on your gearing, you'll probably want 23" slicks so it becomes a more drastic difference than a larger size.

That being said, if you already have the wheels, I'd keep them. It's not like you're trying to break records and squeeze every 100th outta the car you can.

Again, it depends on gearing, but I'd look into these:

(There's a 24.5 inch version as well.)

I pulled 1.6's on both.

Im more referring to the top end gearing. Dont wanna top out of fourth or waste alot of the gear.

My mr2 runs a 24.5 x 8.5 m&h. So I'll just be using the same set between both cars.
I haven't run everything through a gear/tire calculator for the civic yet to see what transmission setup will work best for that tire. I plan to, but right now I'm just focusing on the motor.

Try to do some research and figure out what you should be trapping with your power/weight.

Depending on tranny the 24.5 is perfect. With itr/b16 tranny you will be close to 8000rpm in the trap with 24.5's.

Those that actually know slicks know that wrinkle means loss of traction and increase of shake. Any distortion leads to loss of traction.

I've run 15x10" wheels with MH 24.5x8.7x15's and my 60's were not great. 1.53 was the best.

Put a 13x10" wheel with MH 24.5x9.5x13 and the car pulled 1.45 60' with no other changes.

My goal is to get a 24.5" tire on my car in the 1.3x range.
