fixed tps, now map code is on but I have no MAP
I have a frankenstein duct tape special running with a mish mash of parts. A d15bvtec motor with a confusing mix of ecu/distributor etc...
long story short, several months ago my CEL came on with a tps code.. No real side effects performance wise, passed emissions, but my mileage dropped about 8mpg.. I finally got around to fixing it, swapped in a different tps, with correct voltage readings going, cleared the ecu of codes.. and cranked it up..
It sounds like it is running on 2 cylinders, though I verified it is running on 4, it runs rough as hell, barely stays running, and now I have a MAP sensor code as well as the old TPS code.. I cleared it several times and it hasnt changed. The best part is.. I have no map sensor.. Or rather it is there, but has never been hooked up.. for the past eight years at least...
So, I fixed a faulty tps, now I have a tps and map sensor code with no other changes...
Where do I even start?
Thank you!

I think the best place for you to start is to hook up your MAP sensor.
Make sure you use the correct plug. I believe the MAP and TPS plugs are identical so check the wires and make sure they are for the correct sensor when you plug them in.

3 wires. add them.
Although I do find it EXTREMELY hard to believe you don't have them already.
Does your car maybe have 2?
Some engine have the MAP on the throttle body.
Stock location in 88~91 was a vacuum line that ran to the MAP on the firewall.
There is no way that the MAP wires are "missing" unless somebody physically hacked up the harness and removed them.

What color and what do they look like?
Yes, the harness was hacked up to make it all work.. I cant remember the name of the company, but a harness manufacturer helped me out, as I have so many random parts working together...This engine has the map on top the the throttle body, but no idea where the stocker was....dx crx, s 1.5l dpfi motor...
