Code 3 MAP 2 ecus 3 map sensors
I just finished putting my eg back together, i changed the main harness and threw a y8 in. I'm throwing a code 3 MAP sensor with a p28 and a p75, and ive changed the map twice now, it wont go away, WTF anyone have some ideas?

Re: Code 3 MAP 2 ecus 3 map sensors (speedooo)
did you check any of the wiring?
the code doesnt necessarilly mean the sensor or the ecu is bad.
i love when people napalm cars or just throw darts, and w/o even looking at a svc manual ask for help.

Silly idea I know, but have you tried swapping the MAP and TPS plugs - they are the same and are easily mistakenly swapped when doing that swap.
Usually a MAP and TPS code will be thrown if this is the case, but usually MAP comes on immediately.

Why the jab there?
For some people it's actually quicker/easier to swap such parts rather than tediously check wire-by-wire. If I've got a few extra sensors and ECUs lying around you can bet your *** I'll try those first - in this case the parts take literally 5 minutes to swap out.
I don't normally take that approach with everything, but if I were this guy I'd have done the same if I hadnthe extra parts. I wouldn't go to Honda and buy such parts without busting out a multi meter and checking wiring first, but spare parts can be a great diagnostic tool if you already have them.

i didnt try that but i have done that before and the car wouldnt start, i believe the map wiring extends farther than the tps from the harness?

thanks damn right ill swap out parts before i go and buy new parts...thats a possible waste of money that i cant afford
do you think its possible that something is wrong with the tb itself?

Well I've seen them crank and run (like ****) with the plugs swapped. I mean technically one loom should be longer than the other, but the plugs are easily swapped still.
It was just an idea based on starting with the cheapest/simplest thing first, then working your way up.

No.
Break out a Helm manual and an ohm meter.
I don't trust Haynes/Chilton as far as I can throw them. Helm makes the Honda manuals and have specific flow charts for each code.

you are right, i am having a bad day, no good work again, no power in my house since 5 yesterday my freezer is now completely thawed out,
but after 2 ecu's and 3 maps, unless they are all bad, you need to start looking elsewhere.
to the o.p. i am sorry for flying off like that i am not usually like that. i have not had my happy pill yet today he hee.
