Default LSV B18B1 Catch can

So I know this has been discussed before, and I have searched, but I wasnt able to find the answer to my question. (Plus Im new and just want to bug you all)
Let me start by explaining my situation and setup. I have a freshly built LS Vtec, not even 20 miles on the engine. Broken in and tuned the best I can in my driveway. It smokes blue when reved hard, but im pretty sure thats because I have the PCV blocked off and the valve cover vent running into the intake tube. ( I know wrong way to hook it up).
Im looking into setting up a catch can but i dont understand how to get the drain to vet the built up oil in the can back to the engine. Anyone know a good place for the return? Pics would be fantastic!!

some years back, this is what I put on my B18a1. Used an Endyn catch can with a drain back for about 3 years.

fitting for catch can and put in AFI pvc plug

Endyn catch can installed

I'm cheap and probably gonna kluge one together myself, where did the return/drain go back to the engine?
Also what does it take to setup the PCV through the valve cover? Is the valve cover a proper place to vent the crank?

The Endyn catch can uses a combined vent drain back. was installed like so:

some say the valve cover vent is better. but you don't have to worry about oil coming up the lines if you vent the vc. some people vent the block and valve cover. i ended up switching to this

put the original plugs back in and used a B&R fitting where the pcv hole was as a drain back
(old pic, new set-up had no vent lines coming out the back)

and plugged the valve cover vent

Fantastic! Great pics and information.
Anyone set up their own can with a return?

Ok so I'm gonna setup my own catch can system, is it necessary to have the catch can hooked up to the intake? Or can I just vent the catch can to air and plumb it to the valve cover?

Dont hook up the catch up to vacuum! Oil vapor gets in the combustion to burn that way and you dont want that.

Personally I wouldnt run a drain back. With all rhe vapor condensation there can be a fair amount of water in the can I wouldnt want it back in my engine.

Ive also found fittings off the valvecover will push less oil than the block as they are farther away

I agree with the drain back, been reading more about it and no I don't want that back in my engine. But I also have been reading that vacuum is necessary for proper oil ring sealing, and with my 12:1 comp I need all the sealing I can get... Anyone else with a high comp and no PCV system?
