well, two companies have told him they don't insure motorcycles and one company told him that they wouldn't insure the Ninja because it's "too fast." I think they meant they don't insure sport bikes in general.
He found one company that would insure the bike, but not him. He had his liscence suspended two years ago because of a street racing incident. LOL Karma's a bitch I guess.
Since then he's had a clean record, but no insurance company is going to like him no matter WHAT he does. He just wants to get liability and be done with it.

Has he tried State Farm? They have 2 or 3 different underwritters for different levels of risk. He should expect to pay a shitload since his liscense was suspended for racing.
has he tried foremost? Btw, the ninja thing isn't all sportbikes... way back when ninjas were the cheapest fastest sport bikes out there and killed the image in insurers view. If its a 500r or 250r he can pass it off as an "ex500/ex250" not a ninja. Same bike, different marketing name. Other than that...
sorry
EDIT: just read your original post... I'm not sure but I don't think a regular zx-6 is a sportbike exactly. I think its a sport touring bike... and doesn't hold the ninja name.

Progressive was the company that told him they wouldn't insure then Ninja cause it was "too fast."
So I told him to call again and talk to someone different. He did, and now has insurance for $36 a month. LOL What a bunch of idiots they have working there.

actualy, no. I don't think they would insure his car, which is what is so freakin' wierd. We're not going to say anything though, just keep our mouths shut and be thankful that they don't seem to know all that is going on.
state farm if you already have car coverage w/them
progressive if no one else will write you
a friend of mine also goes through a small company called dairyland insurance company. They've been VERY good to him. I got their number through a Shelter insurance co. agent, I'd check there as well.
