Default Speedo is way off

Well. its like this, I had a lot of work done to my 93 Del Sol SI(re-valved, head port and polish, new motor mounts all around, new fuel pump, replaced a LCA busted energy bushing, and a passenger CV axle) and found out I needed a new ECU as well. The car runs on a P28 just fine but the mechanic replaced the busted P28 with a P30. I think he mistook my SI for a DOHC VTEC. Would the ECU cause my speedo to be inaccurate? Thanks in advance for any help.....

And doesn't specify what "inaccurate" actually is.
And why did you accept the wrong ECU?

I think inaccurate is pretty clear. The speedo is about 10 mph off(low). At 35 mph it reads 26 mph. I verified this with GPS and my smoking hot ex-DKNY model wife driving my Lexus LS430 next to me. And I see that you don't know do you Grumblemarc. I will find the problem with or without help from this site. I figured I would give it a shot but replies like Grumbledouche's I don't need.

And by the way, Grumbledouche I'm quite satisfied with the P30. I can clearly feel more power and have a higher rev limit. I will make the changes needed for proper functionality of the P30 ECU with a D16Z6. Go be "The Grumpiest" somewhere else.

Hey jackass, let's skip the personal attacks and face facts. I didn't say **** to you that warranted your response. We need INFO to be able to help you. We don't know ANYTHING about your setup pas the little bits of information you decided were relevant. For instance, tire and wheel combos can throw **** off.

It's a fact that the P30 is NOT the correct ECU for that engine. It's for a DOHC which means that it's pumping more duel into it than was designed. Translation: you're running rich. And that's for starters. And you should be throwing a code for a knock-sensor.

More duel, or fuel. I think you mean fuel. No need for dirty words retard. Learn how to spell Grumbeldouche. It's all in how you word things and lets face it....you were attempting to be condescending. I know tires can throw off the reading. If you read the first post I asked quite clearly if the ECU can cause a false reading. What that means: My speedo was functioning properly before the ECU change. I know its running rich, its throwing more codes than just knock sensor. I wanted to know if the ECU will cause the speedo to function incorrectly.

GET OUT OF THEM THERE BACKWOODS AND LEARN YOURSELF SOME GRAMMAR.......DO YOU KNOW WHAT CONDECSENDING MEANS?
