96 spec Type R into CRX wiring questions
Ok so i plan to swap a 96 spec r into my crx soon and have few wiring questions as i have i unique situation
obviosuly my car is obd0 and ill be needing to tune it in the not so far future on obd1, but for the time being i wish to run the stock obd2a ecu
so my question is can i run this obd0 to obd1 harness
http://www.rywire.com/catalog/obd0-m...fd8c29306df208
and then run this adapter to run the obd2a ecu for the time being until i buy hondata and an obd1 ecu??

Yes.
That's the correct wiring for what you want to do.
Be prepared for CEL codes because of the electronics associated with the OBD2 system.

Send Rywire your stock engine harness and the type R engine harness and he will make you a custom plug and play harness for $325.00. Best money I ever spent, made for an easy install. Rywire custom harness and an OBD0-OBD2A jumper and you are good to go.
was really trying to avoid adding 700 to the cost of my swap all for a hondata type r base map

it seems i dont have a choice if i want to avoid codes and limp mode
were you able to run the stock ecu without codes doing this???
There has to be more to this. Please explain.

Just go with OBD1 right off the bat. It will just cost you more money in the long run delaying you eventual plans. I have a 98 spec Type R, and regret getting the OBD2a harness.
Rywire no longer accepts cores. Save yourself the hassle and just run it as obd1. You can use all the obd2 components. You just need the obd0 to obd1 ecu jumper and obd0 to obd2 dizzy jumper
If you convert to obd2 (a or b) there are differences. Obd2b does not have an rpm output from the distributor it's generated by the ecu. Jdm obd2 ecus don't have a secondary o2. Obd1 does and it also has a crankshaft fluctuation (ckf) sensor that will need to be bypassed or installed. Not to mention the the vtec oil pressure switch is not found on the jdm itr so that will need to bypassed as well.
