Default Windshield wiper connections

Stupid little plastic piece that connects the rod that goes from the passenger wiper arm pivot to the drivers side wiper arm pivot came off on me the other day. Dealership says that they can get the whole rod with the plastic on it but can't get just the plastic. $45
Anyone else have a better \ cheaper source for this part.

Let me know if my text didn't draw a good enough pic.

Does this part it or is it just a dust cover that goes on top of it some how?

That's how the dealership has always been with that part.

Get a whole rod from a junkyard.
You might even find one on ebay.

Actually I called the dealership back and they do have 1 -- 76524-SD4-003 in stock. But the guy couldn't tell me if it actually held the rod on or was just a dust cover

When mine went bad I replaced it with a part from a junkyard ($12) you might also want to pick up a spare. They call it a windshield wiper transmission. It includes both rods and the pivots. It does not include the motor.

Well I had fixed it a couple weeks ago and just happened to be in autozone looking for something else and noticed that they carry an assortment pack of the plastic pieces at the end of the rod. Don't know if any of these will actually fit but someone might want to give it a try if they ever have this issue. Think the pack was about $6.
