Icon2 Dont know what else to do..

I have a 98 accord 4cyl and for the past week been getting a code for random misfires through each cylinder. Ive already had this problem once (I replaced plugs, wires, distributer, cleaned EGR valve, valve cover gasket) and it went away for a month or so and came back. Currently im running fuel injector cleaner but that's not seeming to help. I would appreciate any help I could get on diagnosing my problem because I don't know what to do. thanks in advance

** and I have terrible mpq as well...

pull the egr valve connector and see if it runs better with the egr turned off

Probably the fuel pump going out.
These pumps are not hooked up to any sensors for fail status and often show symptoms like random misfires from low fuel volume (lean mixtures) when hard ecceleration and part throtle etc.
One day you may try to start it up and find its shot alltogether. Put a fuel pressure gauge on the filter banjo and go for a ride with the gauge under the wiper arm in your view. Any slow or sudden drop below 45psi can cause a misfire under load.

PS, pull your cap back off and look under the coil cover (must pull rotor off too) and see if any red specks or black specks are about. It could be a distributor bearing going out and pick up contact is happening.

Earlier a friend told me that it could possible be the vtec solenoid gone bad and is causing the timing to run out of whack therefor causing the random misfires..does this make since to you guys or nah?

VTEC solenoid failure will CEL.
Also, VTEC will not operate with a CEL on.

Have you pulled the plenum chamber and looked at the egr port inside of it?

What are the compression numbers on the cyl's?

when u change the distributor u have to check the timing with a timing light connected to the #1 cyl. small changes in the position of the dist will advance or retard timing

also pull a spark plug and see if they're fouled etc symptoms

The OP has a 6th gen 4 cyl - so this does not apply.
