Default b18b timing belt re-install

Hey guys did a head gasket on my teg had the head re-manned my question is I just slipped the belt off the cams by loosening the tensioner and removing the head. When I got reinstall can I just put the belt back on the way it came off or do I need to remove the lower timing cover and line things back up again? Had to take car from TDC to put rags in cylinders for two week storage will this affect anything or am I good to go? Obviously going to line everything back up to TDC before installation. Any advice would be great

Before you put tge head on rotate the engine to tge tdc mark on tge pulley and lower timing cover. Then bolt on the head and install the cams with the arrows up (tdc) then you can install the belt and get it timed properly. Theres no reason to need to take tge pulley off to time the head
