2002 civic ex dead-please help
Hello. I have a 2002 honda civic dx manual transmission. While driving one day it just died. Now when I try to start it the gauges bounce when I turn on key and then just drop and engine does nothing. Won't crank click or anything. I didn't hear any loud noises or knock when it died and there was no oil lost when it died. I was thinking maybe cram sensor but engine should turn over at least if crank sensor is bad. Any help or ideas to try would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
So long as the battery has sufficient charge, it should crank. You should have dash lights prior to the cranking. If the dash light die out during cranking, you have a poor battery to engine connection, or a dead battery, or both. If it refuses to crank at all you have a starter-based problem. Either power isn't getting to the starter (unlikely) or the control circuitry that controls the S terminal is not working properly. A faulty clutch switch will prevent starting, as can a bad ignition switch.
You need to tell us what happened or what was happening prior to it dying. Maintenance (or lack thereof), etc.
