Default Timing belt opinions

Ok, the only reason I'm putting this up is because i don't want to have to open the timing cover again. But I will if I have to, and have time.

I installed a new water pump, tensioner and timing belt on my 1st gen B16a. I bought the 99-00 civic si b16 oem belt.

When i installed the belt, i used a flat head to raise up the tensioner a little bit to tighten the belt then I tightened the tensioner pulley bolt. You can bend the belt between the cams but not by much.

Now, the car runs fine, idles fine, but I noticed when i drive, with increased throttle, I get the supercharger winding sound from the timing belt area. I looked up forums, and some people say its normal and goes away with time, then some people say the belt is too tight. Obviously i could find out simply by loosening it but i dont have time to do it immediately so i figured maybe somebody here will come across this thread and spread some knowledge or get some opinions on this matter.

Its not a bad sound but I'm sure its not suppose to sound like it had a supercharger. It wasn't making the sound before i installed the new belt.

Oh yeah, and is the oem tensioner pulley auto adjust? Will it loosen over time?

Thanks for ya'lls time

Well I have replaced my timing belt as well so from memory the only way that it could loosen up over time is if the belt stretched ( probably not a good thing for a timing belt to do ) or for the tension-er pulley to come loose ( This would also be a bad thing because it would most likely come too loose and then run the risk of the belt skipping a tooth ).
BUT having it too tight will also cause the belt to wear quicker than normal so it is most likely something you will want to fix sooner than later. Here are the correct procedures to adjust it and don't require taking off the lower cover.

Well that was more simple than I thought compared to replacing the belt and water pump. The noise is more quiet, i dont hear anything whining while driving anymore, i even gave it a stomp. There is a little whine coming from the bottom when i rev the engine by the throttle plate **** and listening closely down the timing cover but I'm assuming it is normal for a little whine.
