I've had this Accord dropped in my lap by my boss to cNow to grips on the cel. I'm not a Honda guy, I'm the Mercedes guy in our shop. So I need a little bit of guidance on my diagnostic path, and any common failures I should look out for. And, thx in advance for your time in this matter.
OK ive retrieved a dtc 9. Code description is cyl 1 position sensor. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not into throwing parts at a vehicle to get it fixed, wastes my time, and the customers money. Again, thx in advance.

 

If its the position sensor check contacts and wires. Chances are that the part has to be replaced or there is some sort of build up on the Sensor.

 

Measure the resistance for the CYP - pins 4 & 8 on the dist wires. What is the reading?

To know the answer, we will need to know what engine is in the car?

Thx for the replies. I will give more detailed information when I get to the shop on Wednesday. The boss says the new concrete he just had poured will be OK for foot traffic to my stall where it has taken up residence. Thx again for ur replies.

I have the same code for a year, and the car runs fine. Did the diagnostics but gave up since dealing with distributors can be hair pulling; not to mention taking apart a dist. is risky business.

I'm assuming it's a 4 cyl F22B1/b2 engine?

 

Yes, it runs quite well it seems. And, yes it is a 4cyl w/auto trans. I've not been able to do any diagnostics due to my work load and the Honda belongs to the boss and personal stuff always goes to the bottom of the list. I will try n get something of substance by weeks end. Thx again for everyone's time on this. Have a great day.
