Default b18A1 what is this on back of block?

As in title says, what is this that is plugged in on the back of a b18A1 block to the left of the oil filter? Also to unplug it does it just slide out?

Yes it just slides off. It's just a bullet connector.

I't s"tight" because the rubber is ancient and is rock-hard.

I had to cut mine off entirely by putting a slit in the end closest to the block. That enabled the rubber to expand and unhook from the sensor.
