Default Sticking Idle

I've been having some trouble with the idle not wanting to come down. It stays around 2k for like 15min of driving then will go down to 1k. Sometimes however when i shift the rpms will stay as high as i let it rev before the shift. So if i shifted at about 3200 rpms, they dont drop at all, but rather stay at 3200 until i let off the clutch and the lower gear forces the rpms to drop.
Anyone have any idea why this would happen?

I kinda get the feeling that my car just really loves me and wants to do everything for me. My brakes drag really bad so i dont have to push them to stop and the RPMS stay really high so i dont need to push the gas. hmm

sticky throttle cable maybe? Try shooting some WD-40 or Breakfree at the cable. Use it sparingly though.

What year and how many total miles? Salt area? Rusty?

Flush your brake fluid and see what happens.

sorry i thought i put all the info on my sig.
its got 260K as far as miles. (new motor about 20k ago)
as far as rust..nope. The car has spent its life in CA and has never been east of AZ until about 3 weeks ago. i will try the cable. would it be better to use a silcon lube though?

As far as the fliud goes..its all been replaced. i completly flushed the system.

is there a vacuum valve that controls the idle? cuz the way it stumbles a little under load seems like a vacuum leak.
