Default pump gas vs FTW Red

just wanted to share my FTW Red results. took about 20% more fuel. did not need aggressive timing to make power. gains of 18-20whp throughout the powerband

very impressed with this fuel... it was a pleasure to tune . not too bad for a 12.5:1 compression 2L B-series that still drives to the track.

Very impressive. I see you richened the mixture. Were you able to run more timing?

actually had to take away some timing compared to the pump gas tune BamBam. the higher rpm it went, the richer it wanted to be.

NP Tou!

Red is a good NA fuel..really good. I've seen some test with purple, but Red seems to be serious, that's decent gains over pump gas for sure.

Did Red like the richer mixture? Lost power if you leaned it out? Meth seemed to like to be ran really, really rich.. compared to say Q/C fuels.

Red seems to just work well with everything whether stock, NA, or boost. yea it lost power when leaned out. the higher the rpm, the "richer" it wanted to be.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing... Interesting how rich it needed to be to make power..

What's the setup you have there? What cams, IM, header?

That's badass, I found mine didn't like timing either, didn't want any more on the C85.

With all the extra fuel in the cylinder it's no wonder the motor is not going to like more timing. I just wonder whats really in the fuel to make it want to run that much more...

If I'm not mistaken, it's a 2L with Pro 3 Intake and Pro 2 Exhaust, Skunk Ultra Street manifold and Hytech Big tube replica.

Thanks Shad. yea its a 2L - 12.5:1 compression RLZ head - skunk2 pro series cams
- Ultra street IM and Hytech Big tube header

yea i was very surprised with how rich this fuel needed to be to make power. still very impressive since i only gained 2-3whp when i switched to pump E85.

I would do more testing on this motor, but i think ill have to resume the K24 setup after i take this one to the track with FTW Red. If i do continue this setup, a new IM, header, and possibly cams will come. I am not too impressed with the Ultra street. Header is good for a replica, but id like to have another Myers.

PsiGuy - what air/fuel did the C85 like?

If I'm not mistaken, the ultra street has both bolt patterns drilled I.e. gsr and b16

Good numbers

the ultra street fits both a GSR and a b16 head.

I didnt see the Myers replica on PLM's website, but if they did... it's unfortunate.

Jack and I are buddies, so no way I'd support that anyway

It was happy around 12:1, seemed to be best there

Was not aware of the dual bold pattern. Good to know

I saw the post for them on facebook, I'll see if I can dig it up again and post it. It hasn't been "released" just yet, just a public announcement.

Serious though if you wanna get rid of the ultra street...

Not trying to thread jack. I've considered getting 2 tunes to run a race gas at the track. This might make it worth it

Just sold my Myers.

This PLM is switched around to retain AC/PS.. Even comes with Vband clamp and all, really nice quality for a header.. but its sucks.

I loved jacks header, but I'm always about testing, so its on to the next one!

that looks nothing like Jack's header. If anything, looks more like the Six Sigma Racing header i used to have.

I'm all for testing, but to be honest...it'd probably be interesting against other shelf/replica headers. probably wont stand a chance against Myers' new side exits/hood exit headers

definitely looks good for what it is.

IMO the "down pipe" portion looks restrictive....looks like a bottle neck from the v-band out.

What is the clearance like with the hytech on your build calvin? I've been looking at headers and am kicking around performance vs clearance.

the Hytech big tube is the best replica I've tried, but also by far the worst ground clearance lol. Luckily the car is overly high to easily fit 24.5x8x15 tires
