Icon3 Need Help and Advice on my 91 Honda Crx Drivetrain

The car is a 91 CRX HF base but the engine is supposed to be in SI drivetrain swap.

When I bought the car, the guy I showed me the receipt for when he ordered the JDM 1.6L Single Cam Non-Vtec motor from hmMotors with 60k, but the question I have is everything I look up for this drivetrain says its a d16a6, which as you know is the standard SI drive train that comes in the CRX, the problem is the specs don't add up on paper to what the car is actually performing, and I would like to find the JDM specs for this motor or if you can even tell me what kind of motor it is so that then I know where to start at in terms of performance mods.

Any kind of information or help that you can give me on this would be much obliged as I've been searching for the last 3 months and I've came up empty.
Here are some pics of my motor, if the link works, it might help anyone with identifying my motor.

I think it's a SOHC "ZC" engine. Mostly the same as a d16a6

quoted from another forum: "The Sohc Zc non Vtec is identical to the d16a6. Except the cam, as it is more aggressive then the a6's"

From a translated japanese wiki page, i read that one difference is that the SOHC ZC engine's spark plugs are canted slightly towards the intake side to avoid the more aggressive camshaft.

NON VTEC

Maximum output: 88kW (120PS) / 6,300 rpm
Maximum torque: 142N · m (14.5kgf · m) / 3,000 rpm

VTEC

Maximum output: 96kW (130PS) / 6,600 rpm
Maximum torque: 145N · m (14.8kgf · m) / 5,200 rpm

^^^ please dont requote wikipedia. its full of ****.

check WHICH sohc ZC you have. there are MANY different ones.
http://www.norcalcrx.org/tyson/SOHC_Cam.html

determine if the engine came from a carburated engine or MPFI. carburated head will have a patch in the back of the head where the mechanical pump went thru.

and even the MPFI ZC cam is not some "aggressive" cam vs our D16A6, its just .005" extra lift. which is nothing (sheet of paper).

Being that "Speed Of Smell", would it be possible to be a D16A? And it was fuel injected, no carb ever. It does have a solid bottom end, decent top end, but would like to know what engine to base it off of so I can order my list of parts I want. That's the real only question I'm chasing.
Thanks to all who give advise and share the experience and knowledge

the JDM D16A is a VTEC OBD1 engine, same as D16Z6 - the pictures you posted show the engine model to be "ZC" and it is SOHC - for replacement parts, etc. it is the same as the USDM D16A6

Ok, cool that's some relief. Dumb question tho, head gaskets, water pump, valve seals, ect is all alike the a6 right? The crx needs seals, kinda smokes for a moment at take off, and am planning on rebuilding and keeping it D series, N/A, and still daily driven, which is why I was asking. To make sure if I order parts, they will fit right.
Thanks to all for the great advice too, its helped me out a lot.
