My 98 Civic DX is slightly overheating not by much. Only does it when in stop & go traffic or backing up and going fwd. Like parking. or ideling for like 5-10 minutes. I put some coolant in the radiator about every other day or every 3 days like 4 cups or so. and the oil was low like 3in a half quarts low. The oil light never came on. I brought all the stuff back up. The radiator, water pump, timing belt and fan relay is all new. Its staying full in the recovery tank just losing antifreeze from the radiator. and the oil is not losing that much. what can it be? can any one help please?

also, can you see milky oil? if yes it must be a head gasket issue or a crack at your head

 

3 and a half quarts low? thats dam near all the oil required to fill it to min

Is the radiator fairly old? Could need a good flush with water, or if the budget allows, a brand new rad can be had for under $100

 

Check your head gasket. Noticed any smoke while driving?

 

then leak down.
