Default Skunk2 tuner 2

Hi guys, I've just bought these cams and remember reading a post that listed the max lift figures at what duration so you can easily degree the cams but I can't find it, any idea what the timing figure should be to give max lift on these or am I being a bit dumb! This is for a B18C btw, thanks

There ya go.

What you really want to do is call skunk2 customer service and get a recommended centerline and degree to that. I don't remember what they were for Tuner 2's.

Hmm so I just called them the new figures for peak lift are 100.75 intake 103.5 exhaust, this is 10 degrees different from their website, surely there can only be one figure for peak lift... They did say the old figures were 12 years old so I'm not sure if they have redesigned the cam profiles since then or if this is just the optimum starting point they have found over the years. I would call them back but it was a bad connection from the UK and not easy to hear clearly : (

As far as I know that profile never changed.

Put them in, degree them and you won't be disappointed. Tuner 2's are still a very popular cam for a reason.

Excuse my ignorance but surely I need a definite figure to rotate the engine too and then turn the cams until max lift is reached no? This is my 1st time so sorry for the noob questions I don't want to turn the engine to 94deg when it should be 100 deg and vice versa as surely I'll be starting in the wrong place.

Update from Skunk2:

Over the years the cams see revisions (nothing significant) and the castings may be replaced after years of use, that's why over the years they have different etchings on them, nothing to be worried about. The overall cam specs have not changed, what he gave you are our most recent specs for optimum results.

Is the motor in the car or on a stand? Id it's on a stand a degree wheel and dials will be the best bet for getting them 100% on.

It's on a stand with a degree wheel and belben degree kit, should I find the centre lines myself or use these figures supplied then? I'm just not sure with my limited experience how the figures given can vary so much, you'd think they'd update the website with the correct figures if they were 10 degrees out!

Anyone degreed these in using the peak lift method and the centre line figures on the skunk2 website?

When I did mine I used peak lift values with valve lash set at zero:

Intake: 94° ATDC

Exhaust: 112° BTDC
