Help Me!!! Dc5 wont go into gear
Ok so yesterday i drove to the store and everything was fine. get back into the car and try to drive off and it wont go into gear. i pop the hood and notice a bolt is missing from tranny mount. i put a bolt in when i got it home and still nothing. It goes into gear if the car is off but not on. there is still pressure in the clutch and feels normal when it is off. when its on the clutch feels a little wierd. my friend bled it and still nothing. its an 05 Type S btw. somebody please help me!
does the slave cyclinder move the throwout arm when the clutch is pressed?...sounds like a slave or clutch master cyclinder is blown..........most times, thats the problem. If the clutch just stops working without lots of noise and braking sounds beforhand...its ether the master or slave..........most times I tell people to just replace both because if one goes, the other is not
far behind.
on a side note..........most people frget the clutch master cyclinder can be adjusted from under the dash.......
far behind.

worked is a shop for years.......can't tell you how many times I saw people get hit for a new clutch then it was a slave, master or clutch cable( some cars use cables ot linkages).........if the shop tells you its a clutch.......check it before you have them replacee the whole mess...

Lol owned.. Funny, mine did this after the slave cylinder was just replaced. Then had this problem, changed clutch and haven't had a problem since.. I was simply just stating what i had experienced when havingr this problem..
Not like I was saying it was the for sure the clutch and only the clutch
When my slave cylinder when bad it wouldn't go into gear. And had the same problem when my clutch went bad. So I experienced this problem when both parts went bad

Are you guys ready for it? ******* PLOT TWIST!... I pick my car up from the shop yesterday and start driving home everythings fine then all of a sudden I cant shift to 2nd gear. so I pull over and same problem. wont go into gear. I turn it off turn it back on goes into gear but just revs now and doesn't go forward. So pissed right now im about to call the shop right now. So what you guys think? clutch? oh and it wont go into 5th or 6th gear.
think they may have done a crap job of bleeding or you got a crap part....the problems with taking your car to a shop is you never know what they did...did they get a honda part or a crap remake from china? Was the car heat cycled before they handed it over to you...was it freash brake fluid or crap that has been sitting on the shelf for years opened.......... you never know for sure unless you stand over them and watch( they hate this btw)......thats why I took the time to learn how to do this stuff .......
open the hood.....and have a friend depress the clutch peddle and see if the slave is moving........lord forbid people look under the hood
as for instant clutch failor....there are only a couple of ways that can happen..
1) the friction disks can shear off the clutch disk.....when this happens you get a bunch of sliping and squeeling
2) the pressure plate springs fail...99.9% of the time something brakes and you get noise like loose change in your bell houseing.....
3) the throw out bushing or arm fail.....99.9% time things brake off and you get the sound of things bouncing around in the bellhouseing....
hope this helps
