Pics of my ITR and 350Z...pix are now up
Guys, I thought some of you would be interested in seeing the size difference between these cars, etc. when they are sitting next to eachother. I need someone to host a few pics. I took these in front of my house about a month and a half ago...just never got around to posting. If nobody wants to see them, that's cool too.

I sold my R a couple of weeks after I got the Z...
But the Z is badass!
The Z is plenty fast for me at this point. I might throw some forced induction on it at some point though...who knows? Another 100hp couldn't hurt, right?

Yoshi's now putting the pics up. I got a light silver enthusiast model. The only thing I would have wanted on the track model is the brakes. I wasn't willing to part with an extra $6000+ to get them, so I got the model that had everything I really wanted (LSD, traction control, Xenon lights). The stock brakes are sick anyway. If they don't hold up under track use (which I won't be doing for a while anyway), I'll replace them...not a problem. Stoptech sells a kit for about $2k that should be more than adequate. In the meantime, I'll put the $6k towards other mods.
The car is very different from the R. Driving RWD is definitely a lot of fun...my first autoX was like drift-fest...sliding all over the place and loving it. The biggest difference is the low end torque and the ability to steer with power. Coming out of a tight turn, you can just romp on the gas and get the back end to come around. The steering is so good (amazing feel and a tight ratio...2.7 to lock I think) that you don't have to frantically try and control it as it comes around...it all just happens very naturally. It's great.
As for things I miss about the R...I miss my old momo steering wheel. The one in the Z is good, but the spokes are too thick, and it blocks having the perfect grip on the wheel IMO. Also, I miss my old sparco pedals for heel-toeing. The Z pedals are on a nice plane, but the gas and brake are too far apart. The seats in the Z are a little better for me than the R seats, but still not long enough for perfect thigh support. Steering feel in the Z is much better and tighter/heavier. Transmission in the Z is better...shorter throws, more defined gates, and a more mechanical feel. I miss the sound of the R when you blast into VTEC and run to redline. The Z needs an exhaust..with the windows down it sounds good, but it's still a little too mellow for my taste. The R had better visibility...C pillars on the Z are thick and make it tough to see sometimes...not a problem overall for me though. The Z interior is a lot nicer, and the car has less rattles, etc. The R had much better storage...I could fit all race tires, tools, and gear in the back. Z is better than most RWD sports cars, but not close to the R in storage. Z has AC, which is nice...my R didn't. Z is definitely faster in a straight line than the R. At autoX, they are not too far apart I think. The Z weighs 3200lb, and my R was only 2500lb. The difference does not feel that great though...feels like only a few hundred. The Z felt very nimble to me at AutoX...I was pleasantly surprised. On a road course, I have no idea which car is faster. The R is badass on the track, so I'm sure it would keep the Z's hands full. The R would be much easier to push hard since it's so forgiving. The times when I really notice the biggest difference in power and tq. is coming out of second gear corners. If you are in the 3500rpm range in the Z, you fly out of the corner, while in the R, you have to wait for it. I'm sure autoX's here know what I mean. In the R, you hit your apex, mash the throttle to the floor as you try to straighten the wheels, and wait for the cam change to get you moving. In the Z, you hit the apex, and squeeeeeze the throttle so the *** doesn't come out. Mashing the throttle has a very different effect...something I still need to get used to.
The Z is definitely more refined, and I like it better as a daily driver. The torque is nice to have, and I don't shift nearly as much overall as I did in the R. When I drive it hard though, I still drive it at higher RPM's to be closer to peak power ranges, and find myself wishing for more power. I guess that's something you always want, and you get used to the speed quickly. I only did one autoX in the Z so far, but it was soooo much fun. I was ***** and giggles all day.
The R is a race car. It's been said a million times, but it is what it is. The sound at full blast the and feel of the car are tremendous. The extremely light weight of the R is great, and I don't feel as confident yet pushing my Z as I was in the R. You can throw the R around and mash the throttle at will. I'm sure you could beat the R within an inch of its life and it will keep going strong.
Overall, they are both amazing cars for the money. If I could have kept the R, I would have. I need to keep saving for a house, etc. at this point, so 2 sports cars was 1 too many for me. I was very sad to see the R go, and I kept some good R memorabilia to always remember my first sports car. My R went to a great home though, and is already being put to good use on the road courses.
After driving an R for 3 years, I have nothing but respect for the car, and I never hestitate to tell people what a great car it really is, or stick up for it when people say it is 'over-hyped,' etc. I'm sure I'll always look back on it with a smile. Who knows, maybe I'll buy another one some day when I have some extra cash?

Sup Jeff, congrats on the ride.
Much better choice then a E36 M3.

Thanks guys...those are UKDM 15's with standard Acura A's on them. I have to say, it was fun having both cars for about 3 or 4 weeks. It was great to be able to walk out, jump in, tear around a while, then hop in the other one and do the same thing. It let me compare the cars really well.
