I found a guy in my area with a p28 chipped with Neptune, I don't know what to look for to make sure everything is legit. I know if that if I get this I will need the obd2 to obd1 harness but what else would I need to do for this to work?

 

have him send you the model number and s/n to verify its correct. Pictures to verify that the pins are installed correctly.

 

Neptune uses Moates demon data logger, which should be clearly visible once you pop the cover off. It will also have a usb cord coming from the ecu for a computer. Also verify the serial number with neptune to assure it was not stolen. Like a cell phone once that serial has been reported stolen it cant ever be updated or changed. Which makes it almost useless, unless its kept with the motor it was stolen with.

If it was tuned by a dealer, they have the ability to burn it onto a chip. Only way to know is to find a Neptune dealer and have them pull the bin file off the chip. If it's the demon board it will look pretty obvious.
