Default want to buy ( 01-05 ) honda civic ex

okay trying to get out of the Eg hatch era.. need something new....

here are a few problems

1. correct me if i'm wrong, ES1 are 01-03 civic, EM1 are (96-00 ) and EM2 are
( 04-05 ) ????. shouldn't the EM2 be 01-02 since they were right after the EM1 ? instead its ES1 ? i'm confuse
2. which one looks better ? 01-03 civic or 04-05 civic ?
3. can the head light be switch to the 04-05 to a 01-03 ?
4. if i have a k20, will i pass smog in california ? since i'm moving there ( in a year or two ) and it would be a bitch if i have to swap it back out.
5. what is with all the tranny problem i'm hearing.. is it just the 01-03 or all civic from 01-05.. or is it just auto only ?
6. basic plan, ebay turbo or custom 700bucks give or take, forge rods, everything else is stock beside new gasket and seal and what not. k-pro. should cost me no more than 2.5k give or take 250 to 300whp give or take around 15psi. ( same thing i did with my d16. forge Rods everything stock, turbo Greddy kit at 15psi. 12.6 at 110mph back in 2006 )

what do you guys think? just want a new civic, just don't want to mingle with all the rust/dents/ no ac, no pw, no pm, no ps, no sunroot ( nothing )
can't roll up to mcdonalds rolling down the window like i'm jerking off. come on now...

and no the 06 and up are too ugly and fat... not my taste...

any advice on what to look price and what not would be greatful

es1 are all civic SEDANS from 01 to 05
em2 are all civic COUPES from 01 to 05
personally i think the 01-03 front end looks better, but the 04-05 have a better rear bumper, everyone has theyre own opinion on this
the only way to swap headlights from a 04-05 to a 01-03 is to swap the entire front end i think a k20 will pass smog, i see them on craigslist all the time claiming to already be smogged with the swap
not sure about the rest of your questions though, good luck

I think, at minimum, you'll blow the headgasket with that turbo. (btw: ebay turbo= ) That being said the D17 isn't the platform to build.

They fixed the auto tranny problem 2003.5-2005. Most all 7th gen manual trannies have had some type of synchronizer problems.
