Default Cel code 4 after washing motor

I'm selling my car soon and recently sprayed the bay. I was careful not to directly spray electrical connections, dizzy, battery etc but right after the wash I'm getting cel code 4(ckp/dizzy) (it's a 2000 civic running a p28 with a harness) it's been about 24hrs, I popped the plug wires, the cap, and all the connectors around the dizzy and I'm letting them sit. Also reset the Ecu several times. Is there anything else I can do?

You could start praying that you didn't fry the CKP. There's a reason you shouldn't ever pressure wash an engine, and this is it.

I'm always getting the CKP and CFP mixed up, but I believe the CKP is part of the distributor, yes.

There are a LOT of electronics in there. You should never spray water in there. The engine bay is brush and bucket of water territory.

Yes, it's part of the dizzy. I had CEL 4 before. I replaced the dizzy and the code went away. You might want to borrow someone's dizzy and see if the code goes away

OR, it could be the distributor harness (the group of wires that connect to the distributor plug). Rywire has dizzy harnesses for like $30. I have one and it cleared my CEL 8 code, which is also related to CEL 4 since both codes refer to different sensors in the dizzy, and/or the wires that are part of the dizzy harness.

Use an air compressor to blow dry ALL engine bay connectors. Then reset the ECU and go from there.

Resistance at the ecu connector and the dizzy connector are both within spec (380)
