When the catifold-maniverter cracked on my ej hatch I went to a DC sports 4-1 header and magnaflow catalytic converter both specified for an EX. Got an Apexi catback for a DX that I had shortened at the front to fit w the EX front & a flange welded on to bolt up to the cat. They all have about the same ID or slightly increase going out so flow is smooth. Got the EX support for behind the oil pan & all the hangers line right up on the catback. Lengthened the wire for the secondary O2 sensor. Passed smog in Reno no prob. Sounds good.

this forum isn't exactly for "recommendations"..

you should go to websites that specialize in honda parts like PasswordJDM and Jhpusa and see what exhausts there are out there, look on youtube for soundclips and see what you like and what's in your budget.

but for the love of god don't get a no-name ebay exhaust. it will be loud enough to drown out your thoughts.

Those aren't so much recommendations as a way to do something different from what's specified for a hatch.

Have an exhaust shop fab up an exhaust (mandrel bent, not crush bent) and pick a nice muffler, like an rs*r or a spoon n1, done. If you are on a "budget", pick up a nicer ebay exhaust for the mandrel bent piping and weld on a new muffler.

Thank you everyone for the input. I will go to youtube and check out clips and also visit websites to see whats available for my hatch. Ill also go to a muffler shop and have them check it out and see what they can do. Thanks once again.

Best option IMO is to listen to different mufflers/tips on YouTube for your hatch/engine. Compare prices, order the one YOU like the best, go to a muffler shop and see how much it is to do a custom exhaust for you. Mine only cost $95.00 and that's a 2.5" piping all the way back with Greddy muffler. Hope this helps a little.

For an off the shelf exhaust I really like the 70mm Skunk Megapower. It's pretty loud, but it sound's deep and throaty.
