Hey there guys , i've been stumped on this issue. just recently picked up a 2000 Civic CX with a d16y7, 5spd , p2e ecu. the car shows a code for a p0450 : Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/ Switch and p0453e Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/ Switch High Input
the freeze frame data when the code was set was

the car drives fine normally but i experienced this very very weird jerking and hesitation leaving 1st gear, as did my father when he drove it . the car will then jerk whenever gas is applied or let go in any gear. My throttle cable has a few kinks and alot of play... i ordered one from Honda this afternoon, no parts store ie Autozone Advance auto carried them. I did have a code for a Idle Control Malfunction and it fluctuated idle sometimes as if you were applying the A/C control buttom.. idle dipped but rose ( had has neither AC or PS) after i removed the Throttle body and the IACV i found some slight carbon build up , cleaned it out and re-installed it. cleared the codes, the idle issue was solved. however the P0450 and P0453 codes reappeared after 2 drive cycles. I did remove what i believe was the purge solenoid and applied 12v , you can hear the solenoid click. i checked for a clog in the Canister vent however nothing seems to be blocking the vent either. I see issues that people appear to be having with these two p04 codes but appear to be in swapped cars. I dont believe this is a swapped vehicle however i could be wrong.. appreciate the help. thank you

 

The FTP sensor is on the fuel tank. There are troublshooting proceedures in the FSM. Do you have one?

I've had this code before and it doesn't cause drivability issues so you may have other issues along with the code itself.

 

No I do not happen to have anything but a Chilton for my EJ chassis,
I do have a Honda Factory one for the DA chassis but thats useless in this situation haha. ill see if i can find a pdf or access All Data when i head to school later this week i suppose

 

A Google search will yield the 96-00 Civic manual that has all needed troubleshooting guides.
