A/C is working well but the o-rings are leaking on the accumulator/filter. It's a '99 with 240k and after a recharge the air is blowing really cold but the oil deposit is growing and I want to avoid another recharge. I think it will make it through the summer, but when I replace the o-rings and purge the system should I bother replacing the filter? I've looked for posts on Honda forums but most don't address this specifically. I've seen a lot of Accords in the junk yard over the past 3 years and can't recall seeing one accumulator that was replaced.

 

It is a receiver/drier not an accumulator. Yes replace it. It has a desiccant bag inside that absorbs moisture in the AC system and the desiccant eventually is no longer able to do so. There is also a filter screen inside that helps filter out debris in the system. At 240k Id say replace it.
