how to make a car handle
ok, a friend of mine just got an s2000 last night. all i can say is damn. this car is fast, it handles amazing. what do i need to do to get my integra to handle like this. ive all ready got skunk2 coilovers, tokico illumias, a rear upper tie bar, and a progress rear swaybar. it handles ok, but its not an s2000. my car is kinda bouncy. does this mean my springs are too soft or too hard for those shocks. what can i do now to improve the handling.
the S2000 has a lot to do with the way the car is balanced...a lot of designing was put into that suspension and the whole body of the car just for the handling...just make sure you tell you friend not to put any bigger rims on the car or it will sacrifice alot of handling...I would know...theres alot more you could do with your suspension..theres always room for improvment...maybe get a camber kit and work with that..also if your car is to low you might sacrafice alittle from that...bu good luck with whatever you do
would i benefit from getting springs instead of coilovers. a camber kit is one thing i do not have yet. i also just replaced my bridgeston so3's with some junk *** kunho's (a little tight on money). that really changed everything. i know lowering you center of gravity helps, but too low is bad also. i think ive found the perfect height, but its really hard to tell with the crappy tires ive got. im going to get new wheels soon, but i cant decide on a size. eithr 16 or 17 (15's look like brake rotors with tires).
I've never driven an S2000.. so on that/making the teg handle up to par w/ it.. I can't comment.. but on your 16 or 17 question.. I went w/ 16's w/ Dunlop SP Sport 9000's.. I also have Koni Yellows and Eibach sportlines along w/ Neuspeed strut bars and ST sway bars... IMO my car handles pretty well...

what do you think is so wrong with skunk2 coilovers. every sprint made for any honda is progressive, and i dont like that. that's why i got coilovers. i really doubt that putting a spring on my car that is 200 ft/lbs softer that the ones i have now will make that dramatic of a change. in my opinion, sportlines=too soft, neuspseed=too low, sustec=too low. i plan on getting a 40mm offset with my wheels, so if i do not have height adjustability, i know i will rub when i correct my negative camber. can anything be done to integras to balance the car a bit more.
oh btw, all those people that have problems with swaybars tearing their subframes have soft springs in the rear, so i think 400 ft/lbs is good for a 21mm swaybar. then again i might be wrong.
it's hard to take someone's word when they say this is what i have and my car handles good. what handles good about it. oversteer/understeer. is it tail happy. does it have good initial bite. is the car very tossible.

sell your teg... buy a s2k!!!! skunk2... i liked skunk 2 they felt pretty good get adjustable shocks... theres no way to have perfect handles just by telling you.. in my opinion.. everyone has a certain way of liking things and hating thinks.. so get adjustable shocks.. diddle daddle with it.. take a couple turns.. if you dont like it try something else.. thats my suggestion
first thing i would do is loose those crap *** skunk2 coilovers and get a good spring

They aren't crap when you match the high spring rates with the proper damper. This isn't the best street only setup, however.

anyways, i kinda look down at coilovers. It pretty much goes with the whole spring vs. coilover sleeve debate on this board. Do a search in the archives. There are plenty of arguments there.
Real coilover suspension is a different story, but then that has its disadvantages too.
