I bought an 89' crx si with a obd1 gsr swap and full race turbo kit. the car doesn't have a/c or power steering but does have a pretty much full interior minus spare tire/jack and rear carpet. After hearing everyone talk about how light the EF/ED chassis is I was alarmed that it weighed 2240lbs without me in it. Does this sound about right? the car does have a pretty much full tank of gas, but still. haha.
I had 91 crx si full interior with a stock jdm b16a swap under the hood. A full tank of 93 octane and me in the car was 2280 on a cat scale at a local truck stop.
Also no ac of any kind and no power steering.

damn! well I must've got the el hefe version cause I figured without a/c power steering, rear carpet and what not it would be around 21xx or less since in the Honda weight thread it says an 89 si is 2138lbs.

I figured the rear stuff doesn't weigh much but I figured the complete a/c system, power steering and rear wiper+motor would counter the weight added by the gsr motor and turbo kit.
like a 100lb weigh difference between D series drivetrain and a B series. Add in the extra weight of all things turbo related vs a single header, the weight gain is substantial

The weight sounds completely normal. I good way to shed some pounds are 15" forged rims. They can weight in as light as 8.8 lbs, vs the stock wheels at 27 lb's each
oem steelies do, mags have some weight on them too, I think they are about 18 lbs, heavy for a 14"
Another way to drop weight in the front end, it a good traction bar....much lighter!
