Post What is this thing on the Lower Control Arm

Hey All,

I have a Honda Civic Hybrid that I am replacing the lower control arm on. I have removed most of the bolts connecting it but there is one partthat I do not know what it is. Please see the link below for a box.com link to a picture of it. You can see the thing in the middle of the lower control arm that has 4 little purple buttons on it. I cannot pull out the lower control arm without first getting rid of that thing. You can see the bolt a little lower that is hidden by the lower control arm. That is where the other side of this connects to the lower control arm. I have been trying to remove their nuts but the screw turns with it. I have no room on the other side to put a wrench or anything to keep it still while I remove the nut because this weird purple button cap is on the end. Does anyone have any idea what that is and how I can remove it. Thanks in advance!

Nevermind all! I figured it out. That is the Sway Bar Linkage. The reason I cannot get the screw off is because I need an alum wrench to hold the thing steady while I unscrew the nut! Man, I wasted hours on that yesterday. Now I know how to proceed! Thanks!

To get that off, you put a 5.5mm allen wrench in the center of the threaded part and use a wrench to take the nut off.
