Default Help With Audio

I had a shop put in my aftermarket HU, and I put in new speakers (front & back). Everything was working great for about 4-5 years. About a month or two ago when I was listening to music, the back left speaker went out. The other 3 speakers are working fine but I can't get the back left one to come back on. I tested the speaker by hooking it up to the back right side and it works. Brought it to Best Buy and they said it wasn't blown. So I'm thinking there's got to be a wiring issue somewhere. Any thoughts? It is a 98 Honda civic DX.

If the speaker doesn't look disconnected, you should try checking the connection behind the HU. If you have a multimeter, i believe you could check for the continuity?

I do have a multimeter, do you have any diagrams or explanations on how to check it.

Just put one probe on each end of the wire, and test for continuity. Resistance should be as close to 0 as possible. It's also entirely possible that the channel on the head unit has gone bad. Switch the wires for the LR and LF, and see if the dead speaker follows.

Just checked for continuity and the multimeter was staying at 1...but when I shorted the probes together the multimeter read 001. Not sure what you mean by switch the LR and LF wires.

Pull the HU and check the harness. it's possible a wire popped out of the connector.

Before you do that, swap the known good speaker to that side.

If the multimeter is reading 1, that means you either have a break in the wire, or you probed the wrong wire (or two different wires). I mean switch the wires in the back of the head unit for the left rear and left front channels. If the dead speaker moves to the right front after switching the wires, then that channel in your head is failed.
