Front end work ?
Hello, I have 282,000 km on my 1990 crx si.
I have replaced the entire rear end suspension components in 2012 with all new OEM Honda parts
- new rear trailing arm bushings
- new compensator arms
- new lower control arms
I was wondering if I should replace everything on the front end soon.
- Upper control arms
- Lower control arms
- Inner and outer tire rods
- All engine mounts
The driveshafts are new (2013) and lower ball joint new (2011)
All wheel bearings were replaced as well (2011)
Should I replace these soon ?
thanks

Since you want all OEM parts, why not go ahead and buy it now, then just hold onto it until you need them? Would suck to wait a few years then not be able to get any OEM stuff by then.

I personally dont trust much anything skunk2, theres a reason they are nick named Junk2.
At that mileage I would think a refresh would be a good idea. As far as I know only the upper control arms are discontinued.
Engine mounts are a grey area, would require close inspection

Depending on the year, the UCA ball joint can be pressed out and replaced.
In that case, you don't need to get an entire UCA.
Similar to the LCA. You only need to replace the bushings. there is no need to replace the metal unless you crashed and bent it.

No. Just no. Are you looking for a specific camber figure or just going that route because it is seemingly cheaper?
Also, if you do fresh bushings in the front and the car aligns perfectly, then why replace good parts? I've never seen Honda control arms fail/fatigue for no apparent reason. Usually a crash takes them out/bends them.

Anything else in the front I should replace ? radius rod bushings ?
This is just my input, please do not take this the wrong way! Some people have probably had great experience with the Skunk2 upper control arms, but I have not.. I personally think they are junk. I had them on my 88 STD and they were complete garbage! Replaced the Ball Joints, 40$ Shipped(Each).. and within a year they were worn slam out! I have never had so much noise in the front end of a Civic.. I read where people were having to replace them like every two years. I purchased new upper control arms, and never looked back! I have had other Skunk products and loved them.. So please do not take this the wrong way! Just my personal opinion! GL!

The good thing about the Skunk2 is that they are adjustable.
I'll probably buy OEM though to be safe.
I could be wrong, but I remember seeing a thread on here in regards to camber kits.. Saying "You do not need one".. He was also able to get my rear within a half of a degree to where it was supposed to be.. and i never had any issues.. Before i did that, my rear wanted to eat through tires!
