Hasport vs Innovative vs Avid Linkage??
Alright guys, I know there's alot of material on this but everyone who post about one of these mans. is very biased towards them. I was wondering what kind of linkage/short shifter combos people were running on b-swapped crxs/efs. I'm running a cut and welded DA linkage right now with stock shifter and I have to play with it to get it to go into first and when going into 3rd I have to almost juke it down into 4th then up into 3rd to get it to grab (making me clutch a little more than necessary.) SO, I was wondering what linkage/SS to get since people seem to argue over u-joints and stuff on all of them. Pretty sure the guy before me used hasport mounts, dunno how to find out for sure though.
I've only tried avid and hasport. I ditched the avid because i could barely drive the car with it lol. Bought hasport and it was better but still not to my liking. So i modified it a bit, basically just cutting some welds around the shifter and centering it better, then welded it back up. Works and feels perfect now! While at it, i made a taller, short shifter out of two stock shifters by cutting and welding them. Shifter's at the perfect height for me now.
You could probably just rework the DA linkage you have now until it suits you best.

Ive only used linkages that ive made myself and have made linkages for others as well with no complaints or janky shifting. I beleve my cousin has a hasport linkage in his rex and he seems to like it. I think crvtectim is correct just look at what you have got goin on and modify it to work with you. Good luck either way you go.
I had a Hasport, one of the older ones I think, and it was soooo sloppy. Im gonna cut it up and replace the entire joint section with the steering column U-joint. No slop.
Another great option is to buy a brand new ITR shift linkage for like $50 and cut and weld it. Then you have a brand new OEM honda U-joint.

How would I go about getting a ITR shifter new? Dunno how to order things straight from Honda. And also, would it be best to go with an ITR shifter too or get a b&m or something?
Well, you need to get a used shift linkage from an integra, or an already swapped civic. You need to use the stabilizer bar (cut/welded to proper length) and all the bushings and nuts and bolts. You could get an aftermarket shift lever if you wanted.
Then, order your new ITR linkage from here: http://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/a...ame=rod-change
Get it cut/welded to proper length, and enjoy your tight shifter feel.

It looks to be designed so that Innovative can offer replacement parts vs having to replace the whole shift linkage. I can not verify that though

I had a set of old Avid linkage......the end got so worn out (like many others noted) that it would just wobble around whether it was in gear or not.
Just got a set of Innovative.....the piece that DOESN'T connect to the shift rod wouldn't fit with my B&M shifter (part #45074), while the piece that DOES connect to the shift rod is very solid and makes tight shifts. HOWEVER, it is a bit longer than my old linkage piece so that it kicks the shifter forward a little, and it feels like there's extra compression on the linkage from being a tighter fit on the shift rod - I'm assuming this because I can actually HEAR the transmission vibrating thru linkage/shifter.

This is the B&M shifter I'm using

same part # that you mentioned, but on their site, they have 2 different ones for the same #. I was a tight fit to install it and my shifter is forward a little also, but my Hasport linkage was the same way

That new Innovative design looks like it's seperable after the "bitch" pin. Can this be that you could skip fussing with that epic flaw in design by honda?
Please let me know how it goes. Last two motors I pulled I had to leave the (shift)change rod, as honda calls it, on. The shifter in my car is sloppier than a soup sandwich, so it's time for a change.
You can remove the bitch pin in seconds with an air chisel. I like the looks of the Innovative linkage. I have the Hasport now and hate it, lots of slop in the joint.
Yes, that innovative linkage is a much better design. But I still would just prefer to but a brand new ITR piece and cut/weld it, If you already have a linkage.
I've beat the **** out of my pin. It does not move. Trust me, I would not pull an motor with the thing still attached if it was that easy. Your advice is noted. Going to be fun getting it out ><.
Wish I did have a ITR just chillin around. I actually have a GSR. I think I'll still just go with the innovative.

I have a 36 inch piece of stainless (RA330) rolled alloy and It is 1/8 or 1/4 I really think its 1/4 inch... I used to make 1/4-20 thread rods out of it and all stainless hardware. But I use a length of that center it on the outer edge of the BITCH PIN? or linkage pin and bang it right out. I have never had a issue with it.. either not doing it right guys... or not hitting it hard enough. It is a very small part.
To add, I have a b series swapped EF and I made my own linkage as well. I cut a old one apart and weld it back up. I also used shifter mount bushings and the linkage always felt very sturdy and strong. Occasionally there is a 3rd gear grind or pop out but I have been told for a while, it is a common thing with the manual box .

So I just called Innovative. They said the one they're selling is exactly like what is pictured on their website =(.

They also stated that they are working on a new design with no ETA. BLU must know someone over there, perhaps they told him to keep his trap shut and that's why he hasn't responded.
Sucks, I have a time trial at the end of this month, and would like the new design. Maybe I'll use/cut up my GSR linkage for now and wait it out.

My buddy hasn't had time to work on my trans, so haven't taken it out. As far as where I got the shift linkage...ebay.

This reminds me that I need to take my shifter out... it is too long and struggles to get down into 2nd gear because it hits the opening.
I've heard nothing but good stuff about Innovative and for $120 shipped you can't even begin to complain.
I know the linkage I bought was a "B-series CRX/EF shift linakge" and ended up just being an Integra shifter. I was so upset but I just modified it to work.
