hey everybody!!!

so i've just tried to start my 2000 1.6 el !! she's been park for all winter so the car was starting like 4 month ago and now she dosen't want to start!! no clicking noise nothing... battery is good ..starter is good( i remove it and test it out with a battery) all my fuse are good i did checked it with my test light !!! the only thing that dosent work on my car is my clutch and tranny!!! clutch is slipping and tranny in not even staying in gear because its not good anymore and i'm pretty sure that those 2 thing are not the probleme of my engine not turning over... but maybe i'm wrong!!

thank for the link but still this link is for motor that does turn over but still not start!! my car dosn't even turn over ther's just nothing happening!!

 

Assuming 5-speed: Check the rubber stopper at the top of the clutch pedal (clutch safety switch): http://s639.photobucket.com/user/Ron..._5078.jpg.html

 

wep i did check that today and it's going all the way when i pressed the clutch !! i even did pressed it with my finger and turn the key just to make sure and still nothing i've clean all my ground and double check it with my test light and every single part of my block is ground!!!

 

Sounds like it's time to get out the service manual (google for it) to diagnose a no-start condition. Bonne chance.

NVM, not sure which Acura forum would be best suited for the older 1.6 EL. Can't say I'm familiar enough to know which it would fall under.

Good to know. I assumed the Acura emblem meant it was truly an overpriced Honda not just a Honda in disguise.

 

Do any of the lights on the dash come on when you turn the key to the on position?

I just had the same issue on my '94 Civic. Turned out it was the electrical portion of the ignition switch. I had all my dash lights when the key was in the on position, but nothing would happen when i would turn the key to the start position.

 

yes when i turn my key to on position everything is ok the fuel pump start and the main relay does is clicking noise... when i press the clutch and turn the key there's just nothing!!!

 

You're gonna have to check that main relay. Also there is another relay you need to check as well. Its located to the left of the dash fusebox.

 

Yeah i saw a neighbor of mine have one stateside and it doesn't look that bad. Its still a civic but with leather interior. Dont' feel bad, i felt the same way when I saw one.

 

And do you know if your neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal is still working properly?

I know on mine, I have to lift the pedal ever so slightly so the switch makes contact and the car cranks over. The carpet padding has become compressed and so the pin switch could use an adjustment, I've just not relished messing with it.

I usually turn the key to crank and then push my clutch in so that it passes the contact point and the car starts cranking.

 

Out of curiosity have you tried push starting it? Might not be an option if clutch is out, but you can try push starting in reverse maybe... Also check the dizzy there are DIY guides if you can get a multimeter. Try link below and I understand its not even cranking.
