Default loss of power at 5k rpm.

When im driving fast and i reach 5k rpm, i feel like something stops me from going faster, like almost a clanking. Idk if its like the pistons hitting the valves at high rpm or wot, so i try not to have the throttle fully wide open when i drive.

My timing does in fact feel off, in one of my other posts, it shows that i cant align the middle of the marks with the cover.

I can put the last single mark at 16 or 18, but i believe thats wrong. I have the dizzy advanced as it will go, slow acceleration but pretty quick still.

Does an a6 cam in a d15b2 throw the timing off by 1/2 tooth or something??
Need to know if i should advance my camshaft like a tooth or 2, dont want to mess my engine up on my only car.

That's actually what I was getting at in your other thread. You only mentioned that you had done a MPFI conversion, no mention of the camshaft swap.

Adjustable cam gear or Y7/8 cam gear.

I have a y7 gear. So how exactly is the proper way to align it? Om the y7, the UP mark is slanted to the right, and the keyway is tdc?
Do i make the keyway face the 12 o clock position, or do i put the up at 12?
