alright so background on the car...
Its a 1992 Honda Accord EX with an F22A6 engine
It has about 140,000 miles on it. Never had any trouble with anything but the wiper switches so its in pretty good shape...or so I thought.

Just about a week ago it started doing something really ******* weird. Every time I upshift when accelerating fast it immediately shifts up through second and third and then, when it gets to third, it starts jumping between 0 and 3000 rpm over and over again and then after it stops doing that for a few seconds it downshifts extremely slow and stiff. Ive gotten a lot of different theories from "car guys" and some say its a fuel line problem and others say its an electrical problem. Another said it was a problem with the car's main computer messing up with the shift timings. If its a problem with the computer(I hope it is) then I should just have to reset the computer right?

I just want some different ideas and to hear if anybody has had a similar problem because most of the people I tell scratch their head and tell me they have no clue whats wrong.

 

transmission it sounds like. erratic shifting. could also be tps as it manages shift points as well. vehicle speed sensor as well is another thing that could be wrong. check for *******STORED********* codes. sorry we have had idiots on here that can't read. even if you think the check engine light never came on, how would someone know for sure if they never check. took a guy 3 pages to finally listed to about 2 pages of people telling him to check for codes but he said the light never turned on. guess what, i think he had 2 codes in memory after he said its never had a check engine light. AND HE WAS SO DAM SURE THERE WASN'T CODES

 

I did some research on the symptoms of the problem and I think its almost for sure a screwed TPS.

 

Actually now Im not so sure. It seems one of the most common issues with a busted tps is weird idling. Mine hasnt had any issues when idling but it does when Im driving.
