Default B18C1 mild build advice

Hey Guys,
I am looking at buying a DA9 with a B18C1 with some mild mods. If I buy it, I will take the drivetrain out and swap it into my 89 ef hatch. Below is a list of mods - but apparently it only dynoed at 141whp. Seems a bit low, guessing it just needs a good tune perhaps?
ENGINE: b18c2, skunk2 cams and adjustable cam gears, skunk2 intake manifold, short ram intake, skunk2 421 alpha headers, 2.5 catback exhaust, aftermarket catalytic converter, chipped P28, no tune.

Not sure if they are stage 1 or 2 cams...
Any advice on what should be done to get some respectable power out of it would be appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about "the dyno" so much. Put the engine in the car you want, (after a thorough inspection first, of course) and see if its indeed how you want it. "Dyno numbers" can be subjective, based upon the type used, the day it was tuned, etc.. so don't go by something like that to determine if its bad or go. Especially if you haven't driven it yet.

Yeah sounds good. I will drive it tonight and make up my mind whether or not to get it.

You already solved part of the problem. All those mods and NO TUNE. You can't expect the heart to function without a brain telling it what to do... I bet there are 15-20 ponies hidden in that motor with the right tuner.

No doubt...

So I bought the car and it runs very well, pulls harder than any other B series motor I have owned. If there is more power to be found, I would be very happy.

The ECU was apparently ordered from a guy that set it up based on the mods I mentioned, not sure if that accounts as close enough to a tune though. Suppose I will need to book it in for a proper dyno tune?

I believe the cams are a skunk stage 1, are they similar to stock type r cams?

basemap is just that a basemaps. no 2 setups will be identical. tune the car see where it nets you.

Ahh very good.

The headgasket is looking a bit leaky near the edges - thinking of replacing it. Any suggestions on an aftermarket one that will raise compression? Or should I just go with stock thickness?
I've read a bit about thinner hg's being prone to leaks if the connection between block and head is not super clean...also possibility of pistons not having enough clearance up top...any truth to these claims? Or is it a safe mod without any other accompanying mods?
