car 02 rsx type s

issue engine makes a clicking slapping noise coming from top half chain side of motor

before everyone says valve adjustment read the whole post

motor has fresh rebuild has about 2000 miles on it
motor went to machine shop got fresh hone and valve job
all new rings bearings gaskets
new timing chain, tensioner, all new chain guides, new oil pump , oil pump chain and tensioner

valve adjustment has been done 4 time twice by me and twice by a honda dealer , both times deal stated perfectly in spec

to me it sounds like chain slap, have replaced chain and tensioner twice both times with brand new oem parts

head and block have NEVER been milled

any info please

 

one of your guides is bad. I had a customer bring me a car with a nasty slap sound. No joke one of the yellow/orange colored plastic guides came off and it was chain on metal. Found the guide busted in pieces in the oil pan. Check all your guides.

 

sounds like a guide to me.....although a couple months ago I pulled a kids valve cover looking for a strange noise and found a feeler guage bouncing around in the rockers.....kids friend left it there after adjusting the lash........oooops
