Default 2005 manual transmission

So i bought a 2005 crv about 5 months ago. Don't really know too much about the previous maintenance other than 2 new front cv axles but i did get it inspected by certified mechanic before i bought it. It started leaking oil from the transmission last week, seems like its coming from the driveaxle seal, no problem i thought as its only a 10$ part and few hour to swap. But when i got the axle out there was this random broken piece of metal sticking out of the transmission which probably cause the seal to start leaking. Looked like a snap ring to me. After a few days thinking about it i finally pull the piece out, replaced the seal, refilled with honda mtf and went for a short test drive. Transmission still works perfectly but still leaking oil from the same place. Think i might have to get my transmission rebuild What transmission would i need to replace my current one ? From what i've found on ebay, seems like any 5 speed from 04-06 should work, anyone can confirm that ?

seems like part number #s are different for 2002-2004 and 2005-2006 transmissions. Anyone knows if a 2004 transmission will fit my 2005 crv ?

So you ended up buying a 2004 transmission ? Is your mph correct since the 2005 crv have 16 inch wheels and the 2004 have 15 inch wheels ?
