87 prelude carbed idle issue
So the ported vaccum switch on my dual carb lude busted. I couldn't get one without ordering one. So I improvised and used a copper fitting with a nipple to slide the coolant hose on.
My question is what exactly does the ported vac switch do?
And this car has set up a while
It will not idle right at this particular time. It drives like a bat out of hell but when I push the clytch it dies..
Help?

Best guess, is that we have no ideas on the dual carb engine....
But for the ported vacuum switch they control the amount of timing.... some engine have more than 1 vacuum switch, my EW1 has at least 4...
The best way to try to start the engine is to disconnect the vacuum hose(s) at the distributor (some have 2 lines) and use a vacuum pump with gauge to apply some vacuum at about 15 to 20 inch and hope that it is holding up.... and crank the engine...
As for the clutch ... it is related to the timing...not enough power to move the car.... not enough rpm to slip the clutch to move the car.
Pict of the switch and your repair are always good.
Does it happen on cold wet morning.... but start fine on sunny warm days?
