Default skunk2 pro series stage 2

Read a little on it last nite but really didn't find much. I was wondering if this cam is too much for a boost setup? I got these on a good deal brand new but forgot they were stage 2 and i really only seen people run the pro 1s in a boosted setup. If its too much what came should i run? Car should be a 750-800whp car imo.

This is one of those things that would warrant a hell of a lot more details about your setup. A lot of people would say Pro 1's only and others to mix and match Pro 1 and Pro 2 intake and exhaust. More about your setup is needed to go any further. And really at your power level you should know most of this already haha.

I already have pro 2s. That's why I'm trying to see if i need to ditch these and go with something different.

stage 2 uses same lift and more duration than stage 1, so a 0.02 milling (CR 10.5:1) will help em to run better...

yeah i think with your set up, they are ok...even without milling the head..

also i dont think they re gonna offer sg better than the stage 1, except little more power above 6000 rpms...

You guys keep using Pro and Stage series cams like the terms are interchangeable. For Pro series cams the "stage" is actually Pro 1+, Pro 2+, Pro 3+. For Tuner series cams the "stage" is actually Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3. So when you keep saying stage 2 are you talking Pro series like the original post or Tuner series like has been repeated on the second page?

Tuner:

Pro:

I will assume you are still talking about the Pro 2+ cams since that is what the title says before Stage. Since you seem to be set on using them then try them out, I would say you are on the tipping point between Pro1's and Pro2's. Just be sure to take your time and get all relevant measurements to be able to adjust them quite a bit on the dyno to find the sweet spot for your setup.

It's gonna take a shitload of work to hit your power on an 81mm motor.

And without a ported head it'll be even harder.

me personally I wouldn't run a CSS block at that power level. it's nothing more than a glorified block guard and the stock sleeves are a definite weak link.

do you want to destroy a nearly 20k dollar motor because you didn't spend a couple hundred more for a proper block?
I wouldn't trust stock anything at 800hp much less a stock sleeve. with the CSS process you'll no longer crack the top of the sleeve, you'll blow out the center of the sleeve and destroy everything.

SpeedFactory is using Pro2's in James car right now. That is my understanding. I have no experience personally, but that is a lot of cam for an 81mm setup and stock ports.

I hear you. Ill have to see how it goes. If i can't find the time to put the car together by next month i might just wait until winter time, save cash and do a Benson or ge sleeved block. I honestly do trust the css process though for some reason.

It's been gasket matched. Runners and stuff is smooth but not race race stuff.
