1990 CIVIC HATCH-15X8 (+12 offset) fit? 195/45
Hello ALL!
I am writing to get some knowledge from people who are experienced in putting DIAMOND RACING RIMS on the 1988-1991 Honda Civic Hatchback bodies... I just ordered some 15x8 +12 offset DIAMOND RACING RIMS with 195/45/15 tires. My civic currently has SKUNK lowering springs. My car is not slammed but it is lowered a little bit. Currently I have some DR16's which I have grown tired of. So on Wednesday my wheels come but I am some what worried if there will be a clearance issue. I have read many threads and forums but between the people bashing the rims and the people actually helping with info its hard to find a clear answer. Here is what i have gathered,
Cons
-They are heavy
-Hard to balance locally because of LUGCENTRIC
-Easy to bend (Depending on model)
-Some say they are ugly lol.
Pros
-Looks
So with that being said... I only drive the vehicle maybe 10+ times a summer and it stays parked during the winter. This is not may daily driver so I dont mind the cons to much. If i mount these on my civic as is, will I have a problem with rubbing or clearing the brake? Should I put 5 spacers up front? I don't want to roll the fenders or quarters. I do understand eventually I will have to put a camber kit. But I just want to rock them for a little until the camber kit decision is made. Any knowledge will help. Thank you! Have a great day!

i had the same problem. i can tell you for sure that the most aggressive offset i could fit on the rear (15x8 wheels) was +25et without a camber kit or touching the fenders.
in reality even my +25 rubs rarely but my coils are set hard in the rear so it's not that much of a problem. i would recommend a slight amount of camber on a setup like mine.
the fronts are no problem.
also i'm running 195 50 tyres.
if you're planning on running et12 you're def going to need camber.

Thank you everybody who replied, but not only replied…replied with positive info. I appreciate it… I came to work surprised to see 4 messages on the forum. lol. I didn't think people use these anymore. :D Great…. Yea I figured eventually i will have to add minor camber. But just didn't want to right away have to purchase spacers and the camber kit. You know… every penny counts. Bills and stuff
lol Im hoping for a pretty stance when those wheels come in as it sits now with my current suspension. Wish me luck guys… 1 more day and the wheels arrive. I know they are outdated but still I feel a bit of anxiety on how the over all appearance would be. Fingers Crossed

Ok everyone, So I have good news and bad news, The good news is the wheels arrived and I am happy and contempt with them. The bad news is I will need to run 5mm spacers up front to clear the caliper. I came back to give you guys a update encase months or years down the line someone has the same question…they can refer to this thread. But I LOVE the way it makes my car look! I thought my UGLY BETTY stood out before. She looks clean now. DAM I am happy. For you slammed guys it does not sit that low but its fine for me considering I live in a city with many potholes and bumps. Its lowered but just enough.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
