I am looking into getting a kit from Dipyourcar.com and from the videos i have seen on youtube it does a pretty good job for a cheap price. Have any of you guys dipped your cars before. If so, i'd like to hear some input on it.

 

I think it looks like trash period... can't even come close to looking as nice as detailed painted car.

 

agreed. OP, start saving for a quality paint job if you cannot do paint yourself. Vinyl wrap also isn't a bad option, IIRC a professional job will run you about $1500 and imo looks better and higher quality than plastidip by a long shot

 

Vynil wrap does look a lot better then dipping it!

 

Ive dipped my car into quite a few bumps and recesses causing the uca to hit the shock tower.

Dipping=blows

 

The best dip in the world will look like *** if you don't know what you're doing.

My buddy bought some off that site, and did his wheels. Didn't look good at all.

Thanks for the feedback. Noob question: what's the difference between vinyl wrap and dipped?

 

Vinyl is like a giant sticker. A dipped car is a thin sticky rubber coating, like latex, if you will.

 

Has anyone used the dipyourcar.com gun? is it worth the extra $$$?

 

What if your car already looks like *** before dipping it? Will it look like a bigger ***?

Because my beater looks like *** now. I hear dipping is pretty easy. I don't feel like shelling out big bucks for my beater. For my fun car no problem. But as bad as my beater looks, I don't feel the need to make it look even worse than it is.

 

Would rather do a $350~ Maaco paint job than Plastidip
