Icon2 OBDII GSR swap help

I am currently swapping my obdII GSR into my 94 del sol si.
i ran into a few problems.
the block that i purchased came with a brand new oil pump (obdii) and
brand new timing gear, but the timing gear is for an obd1 gsr.

my question is, i know that the only purpose the obdII timing gear serves is for the sensors on the oil pump. But do i need those sensors at all? Can i just use the obd1 timing gear? i don't care about emissions or anything like that. and i will be using an obd1 ecu with a conversion harness for the obd2 harness.

thanks!

yea. google ckf trick. basically you splice two wires close to the ecu for the cam and crank sensors. I do this all the time. you get no cel and still pass smog

so i can use the obd2 oil pump without the sensor attached and use the obd1 timing gear? I'm in the midwest so there is no smog or emissions. so I'm not worried about that

use an OBD1 B series vtec Dizzy and you won't need to do anything with the oil pump, nor the crank sensor on the oil pump as it is inside the OBD1 dizzy.

Yes, if you're still running the car on OBD1 w/ OBD1 harness, you don't need to worry about the sensor at all. Just install it with your timing gear and you're good to go

The engine being OBD2 means nothing - you should have stuck with OBD1, and running the engine OBD1 - being as how your CAR is OBD1. In a sense, you've created more problems for yourself. If you're running an OBD2 harness w/ OBD2 distributor, you need to run the crankshaft sensor.... You can try the bypass trick, but you're better off either running the sensor, or going back to an OBD1 harness/distributor...
