Hey guys i'm new here and i assume you've seen this question before... but I couldn't find anything pertaining specifically to the 2014's.

I just ordered a 2014 Civic SI Coupe (Provided that the stealership is able to find one by June), but I was wondering if i should at least ask them to inform me if they find a sedan as well. What are your guys opinions on the 2014 Sedan vs the Coupe?

I know that the Coupe got the front end refresh, which I do like as I thought that the Sedan's fog lights ect could use a little re-thinking... but at the same time the coupe's re-design might be a little over the top for me. I don't see the storage / convenience being a huge issue.. especially for the added power... but from what i've read it looks like the Sedan performs nearly identical to the coupe, is this true for the 2014 model as well? If they perform essentially the same i'd probably prefer to own the sedan for the added convenience.

Long story short I feel like I may have made the wrong decision by trying to get a Coupe instead of a Sedan, what do you think?

I'm sorry for the noobish post, i'm just a bit concerned and I want to make the right decision here. I really appreciate your help!

 

I have driven plent of the 06-08 2 doors and own a 4 door and honestly I dont feel a difference in driving them. I personally think with the newer civics that the coupe looks better, unlike the 06-08 which I like the 4 doors more. You asking questions that honestly you should be answering. You are going to get a lot of opinions but thats really it, no cold hard facts. If you plan on having kids in the future, hate having to get out to let your back passengers out, or prefer having the extra ease of putting stuff in the back seat I would say 4 door. If your young, in school, single and not planning anything maybe the 2 door is the right choice. It all comes down to what you think fits your right. I have kids and like the look of the 06-08 even though most prefer the front bumpers on the 09. Its all based on my opinion though. I have only driven a 2 door 2013 so have nothing to go on except i like the K20z3 in my 08 more. Decide what matches you best and use some of the "opinions" on the 2 door vs 4 door to help you make your decision. I am sure a 4 door is easier to find as in a sportier car they are less desirable.

 

Thanks for your input, I called the dealer and let them know i'd take a sedan over a coupe but whatever they're able to find first i'd take. Unfortunately i'm on a time line here and it kinda stinks I have to make a purchase before being able to see either of them in person (all i've seen in the 2013 coupe, which from what i understand has the same front end of the 2014 sedan).

I haven't driven either, but my opinion is that the Coupe looks a little over the top in terms of design - at least the front end, anyway.

 

I prefer the sedan way more then the coupe!

Yup, me too!!

 

I find the sedan too look like a fun car and the coupe is some experiment that got messed up... lol

Coupe looks like a freaking Kia... the sedan is the same as last years. I personally would be looking for a different platform all together if I was you. New Civic's aren't holding their value like before and aren't being made very well at that.

that front bumper... sorry but it's just hideous! Sedan looks better hands down...

 

Not only that but they almost weigh the same. No reason other than looks in my opinion. Sedan gives you 4 doors and more head room. But holy cow Honda must be getting desperate for attention with those color options haha.

 

I just picked up my 2014 coupe with HFP kit, and I love the look of it, but to each there own.

 

HFP kit? This didn't come on the Si so I assume you Got a lower model. I just ordered a Taffy White Sedan and should have it by Friday. They are delivering it to me from Oklahoma Yay.....but anyway, love the sedans way more and the fact you can use the 8th gen rear window visor because its a sedan makes it that much better 8) The *** end is sexy as **** on the 2014 !

 

No it's a 2014 Si coupe with HFP kit, new front and rear underbody with new side-skirts, and 18' chrome wheels. It might just be a Canada thing, as the salesrep said there is only 500 2014 Si HFP's in Canada this year. I'll post pictures when the site will let me, I can't right now being a new member and all.

 

I just purchased a 2014 Civic EX Coupe and I noticed it looks like a SI sans the fog lights and spoiler.( engine too naturally). Nearly finished pimping it.. photos to follow.
I like the hidden exhaust look and the dash layout..along with the rear and side cameras. The 10 speaker radio is a plus. The minor glitches, like the touch screen, is slow to react and will take some getting used to. It also has only two cup holders and one power outlet albeit there is a USB access. The tech is locked to Honda and begs for a jailbreak. It's the kinda rare Dyno blue and looks sharp blacked out. I am so not into bland greys/white/beige/black.

 

HFP accessories are installed at dealerships, so I doubt a dealership would know how many Civics there are with certain accessories installed (such as the HFP lip kit). Salesmen like to spew nonsense.

 

They both try too hard IMO. The 06-11 is simple and clean. A little plain, but the 09 refresh really helps with that.
