GSR SWAP ECU HELP
So i am extremely confused and did a ton of research.
so don't comment saying "use the search bar"
i currently bought a 94 del sol shell.
there is NO motor, NO ecu, and NO engine harness.
i have an obd2 gsr motor that is going in the shell.
my question is, can i just buy an obd2 ecu and obd2 engine harness and call it a day?
I've seen many people say you can't use obd2 harness in an obd1 car,
but i am still trying to get things straight with this.
any info will help
thank you

The OBD-2 engine harness will plug in to the Del Sol chassis harness in the engine bay. You didn't mention the trim level of the Del Sol, so for full disclosure, I would clarify that you may need to add as many as 4 wires to the chassis harness between the passenger shock tower and the ECU plugs (4 wires if the chassis is a "S", 2 wires if it is a "Si", and 1 wire if it is a "Si VTEC").
As for the ECU, you will need an ODB-1 P72 ECU which will plug in to the '94 Del Sol ECU plugs.
The 4 wires necessary will be VTP, VTS, Knock and IAB secondary butterflies. Also, some "S" models had the MAP sensor on the firewall. If so, you will have to move those 3 wires over to the passenger side shock tower to meet the MAP sensor wires in the engine harness... or plug the MAP sensor wiring from the firewall into the MAP sensor found on top of the throttle body.

And no do not use the OBD2 ECU unless it's JDM otherwise your going to be dealing with a ton of engine light codes for emissions equipment your car doesn't have.
