Reverse glow gauges HELP
So I recently bought some reverse glow gauges of eBay but i don't know how I made the stupid mistake of not checking what kind of cluster it was for I checked to see if it would fit my 97 civic ex sedan but when I got it I notice it didn't have the slot for the P,R,D,N,2 (automatic) so am wondering if a manual transmission reverse glow cluster would work on a auto
I drive an automatic and I made the same mistake of buying the glow gauges for a manual instead. So my P,R,D,N, slot was covered up, but it did end up working. BUT lol while doing this I ended up taking off the needles in the process and screwed up my whole cluster so I eventually bought a new cluster with literally the same amount of miles and I never put the gauges back on. SO just slide them around the needles instead of removing them when you put them on.
I made the mistake of trying to slide them over the needles and broke my water temp and fuel gauge, learned the best tick is to make a small "v" notch in an inconspicuous spot that will be covered by the needles normal position or it'll be too tight, lesson well learned lol
Thanks really helps a lot but I also have another question I forgot to add, after you install them how to you wire them? I know it comes with like a little box but I honestly have no idea were it goes or to what.
If I remember correctly it has a plug designed to go into one of the old bulb sockets, at least mine did. I left the top lights in so I can adjust the dimmer for the white lights as well as the gauges themselves since I have white needles, don't remember what color the civics are.
I really don't remember the wiring lol. but dang I thought sliding them over the needles would he safer. now I just have blue led bulbs in my cluster but I kind of like the look of those glow gauges at night.
Lol I wired them Into my dimmer switch on my integra. Hook the red lead into the red wire, hook the black lead into the red/black wire. Then you dont have to mess with the dimmer that comes with the gauges and can dim it like factory.
