cooling system questions
The last time I posted about something coolant related it ended up being a coolant hose that had a huge crack in it. Now I have two questions, before hand I noticed that there was coolant (still happening) laying on top of my fan cover. At first I thought it was my radiator cap needing replaced, which I did, but it's still doing it.
Now I'm hearing a grinding sound coming from that same vicinity. The car doesn't run any different, but the sound is pronounced. I'm probably going to take the car to a shop but hopefully I can get it figured out through here, research and on my own before I pony up the big bucks to have it fixed by a shop.
Is it possible a grinding type sound would be coming from something radiator or fan related? You all ever heard of that?
Here's a pic of the coolant sitting on top of my fan shroud in case that helps.
Thanks again for all of your help

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
Cooling fan could be grinding, but....the fan doesnt (shouldn't) always run.
That's a significant amount of coolant. Is there a tear in the line that goes from the filler neck to the overflow?
The radiator you have looks a little...cheap. maybe it developmed a crack in one of the tubes?

I have seen the radiator crack at the plastic causing a puddle similar to this. the grinding noise could very well be something in the fan, but like bserious stated, the fan should not run all the time.
I appreciate the responses fellas, the radiator does look cheap haha, but unfortunately for me I bought it that way. As for the grinding, I did some more searching and ended up finding out that it was the transmission that's making all of the noise : (
