hey guys i would like to know if i can only run the upper and lower coolant lines for the radiator and the rest just weld them shut. motors is a lsv made 500hp before and going for 600 with this new setup. would i face overheating issues if i do this. car is mainly a track car put planning on taking it out on weekends for fun. any advice is appreciated thanks
Well you figure you don't need the heater core hoses, overfill tank hose. There's not much left other than the lines from the thermo housing going through the intake and head stuff. Not sure that cutting them off would kill anything but what's the point? Don't forget the coolant not only cools but also warms up and regulates the engine temps and Intake temps for a much more predictable temp range. Some things to think about
It's like anything . . . what are you willing to sacrifice?
If you are asking if it will straight up work, then yes. We haven't noticed any substantial change in #4 running hotter with the bypass blocked off . . . on 1/4 mile runs. Sitting in stop and go traffic might be another story.

I'm just trying to clean up the engine bay as much as I can. I think I'm just gunna run the 2 radiator hoses and intake manifold hose and weld the rest
if you street this car often your gonna be miserable with out iac. i would disconnect the iac for now and drive it around town to see if your willing to put up with it.
The iac doesn't need coolant to operate. I'm interested in hearing about people that remove the bypass hose. What size and how many holes are you drilling in the thermostat?
