At night if I put it in parking lights the dash light and parking lights turn on but when I click it over to the headlights the parking and dash light turns off ... Iv change the fuse on slot 19 with a 10 fuse .... Is it in the switch itself causing this ???

 

The reason you haven't gotten a reply is because this could be anything. A short, a fuse box problem. A short, a switch problem.

Unfortunately the only way to diagnose the problem would be to take it to a shop and pull off a lot. It shouldn't cost much to fix, but it will take a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG TIME. Expect to be car-less for a few days, till they find the problem.

 

He hadn't gotten a response because he only posted 4 hours ago, and your advice is painfully horrible. It can easily be self-diagnosed - no need to pay anyone to do it.

OP, first off, car information is required. Year and trim, as well as any and all modifications. Post them.

Second off, when you turn your headlights, have you tried adjusting the brightness switch? It should be to the left of the steering wheel, near the vent.

 

It's probably not a fuse problem.

Have you done any repairs/modifications recently?

 

Ya I put a type R in the 1995 civic hatch vx and I check the fuses and everything check out fine ... So I took off the steering wheel to take out the combo switch and took that apart and it was filthy ... There was no connection when I switch it to headlights with parking lights ... So I clean it up sanded the metal with 800 grit and put it all back and now it all works ... The next problem in having is that my blinkers arnt working ... The haszards work just not the blinker it self ... ( they weren't working before )
